“Kill It To Save It”

An Autopsy of Capitalism’s Triumph over Democracy

On May 4, 2017, the Harvard Book Store was standing room only for “Kill It To Save It” author Corey Dolgon’s book reading and Q&A session. Dolgon was a gracious and affable host to a large group of friends, family, colleagues, mentors, and as he put it “new friends.”

Paper or Plastic?

It turns out that, indeed, plastic is indestructible

I am so p***ed!

Like so many of you, I’m diligent about always having cloth bags in my car.  I put on a smug face when I buy something in a less-evolved city and am asked “paper or plastic?”  In such cases I bring out a nice, clean, foldable bag I keep in my purse for such occasions.  I whip it out and shake it open so my fellow shoppers can see how environmentally aware I am.

It’s written all over my face:  “I’m from Cambridge.  We are civilized.”

It was a beautiful day. For the first time in a long time, the air was warm and the sun was shinning, and it was a perfect day to stroll over to the Islamic Society of Boston (ISB) on Prospect Street for an Open Mosque Day.

Alternative Facts?

...nah, not really

I was reading an interesting article in the Cambridge Chronicle about the old Harvard Square Theater.

The building is located on Church Street and I walk past it every week on my way to class.

It has always caught my eye because of the beautiful nostalgic murals painted on the building's exterior.
